Meet Puck & Becca in SILVER BASTARD!
Now Live!
Blurb
First in the new Silver Valley series from the New York Times bestselling author of the Reapers Motorcycle Club Novels.
Fourteen months. For fourteen months, Puck Redhouse sat in a cell and kept his mouth shut, protecting the Silver Bastards MC from their enemies. Then he was free and it was time for his reward--full membership in the club, along with a party to celebrate. That's when he saw Becca Jones for the first time and set everything in motion. Before the night ended he'd violated his parole and stolen her away from everything she knew.
Five years. It was five years ago that Puck destroyed Becca and saved her all in one night. She's been terrified of him ever since, but she's even more terrified of the monsters he still protects her from... But Becca refuses to let fear control her. She's living her life and moving forward, until she gets a phone call from the past she can't ignore. She has to go back, and there's only one man she can trust to go with her--the ex-con biker who rescued her once before.
Puck will help her again, but this time it'll be on his terms. No more lies, no more tears, and no more holding back what he really wants...

Ignoring him, I settled back on my stool and surveyed the room. We sat in Becca’s section, and what I saw wasn’t making me happy. I knew she was a good waitress, but she’d just started here and it showed. Not only had she fucked up several orders, she didn’t quite seem to get the rhythm of the bar. That wasn’t my problem, though.
My problem was that despite these fuckups, nobody seemed to mind. I had a nasty suspicion this was due to her perky tits, friendly smile, and tight little ass that seriously just needed a bite taken right out of it.
She really, really needed to get a new job—every man in the place wanted her. Including me. Especially me. I hated them. All of them. I shifted uncomfortably, because just like every time I shared a room with her, my pants had gotten tight.
Torture. Becca was just so fucking fine on every level, and not just her looks. There was something about the way she carried herself . . . I couldn’t put my finger on it. Like she was dancing through life to some song nobody else could hear. Never met another woman like her—she wasn’t just sexy, she was a survivor and I admired that.
She’d grown up so much since the first time I’d met her. Bigger boobs, a nice fullness to her ass that was nowhere close to fat but would be perfect to hold tight while I fucked her. Her lips had plumped, too, and over the years she’d gained a sparkle in her eyes that turned her from pretty to 100 percent spectacular.
Not to mention how she’d tasted.
Nearly blew in my pants when I’d taken that mouth. Just the memory got me hard. Make that harder. Fucking basket case.
When I’d pulled up to find her sitting outside with Collins, a thousand murder scenarios ran through my mind. And yeah, I know I covered that already, but if anything ever deserved empha- sis, this was it. Collins needed to die. I didn’t care how nice he was. After that I’d throw Becca on the back of my bike and make a run for the hills . . .
Okay, so there were a few problems with the plan, the top one being she hated me. Or she should—I’d certainly given her cause. Boonie nudged me.
“Did I mention you’re pathetic? You want her, take her. Other- wise let it go because you’re an embarrassment to all men in general and to the Silver Bastards in particular.”
My Review:
Silver Bastard (Silver Valley #1) Joanna Wylde
Puck Redhouse spent fourteen months in jail to protect the Silver Bastards MC from their enemies. There was never any question for him, he would die to protect his brothers a little time in prison was nothing. When he was free though it was time to get his reward for his loyalty, full membership and a party, including lots of booze and beautiful women for Puck to get lost in that is when he laid eyes on Becca Jones. She was sweet and innocent soft in all the right places exactly the fantasy girl that kept him sane while he was away. Little did he know his attraction would nearly cause him to go back to prison and having had a taste of Becca he would never be the same. He rescues her, protects her, loves her from afar, but in the end he knows he won’t be able to live without her. Now all he has to do is convince Becca that he is the man she needs.
“You need to get this straight, Becca.” Puck said slowly. “You’re mine. You seem to think that’s still up for debate- it’s not.” I’ve claimed you and the club agreed. That’s how it works in my world. End of story.”
Once again, Joanna Wylde hits it out of the park with this first installment of her new Silver Valley series. Though the book does have plenty of hot bikers to keep our hearts pounding, the new characters she introduces us to as the residents of Silver Valley promise to take us on a wild ride.
In this book, we get to know Puck Redhouse who we met in Reapers Stand. Puck and Painter serve fourteen months together and they develop a strong bond. I have to say the prologue seriously starts with a bang, my mouth literally dropped open at the end. Joanna really knows how to get a reader hooked.
"Like she was dancing through life to some song nobody else could hear. Never met another woman like her-she wasn't just sexy, she was a survivor and I admired that."
This book is dark, gritty and violent at times, Becca’s situation is not a good one when we meet her. Puck saves her and she starts a new life in Callup, Idaho, he watches out for her from afar but leaves her to her life. However, when Becca needs him Puck is there to lend a hand, though this time it’s on his terms. He knows she is attracted to him, they certainly have a history, but she’s skittish Puck is a big bad biker. Becca’s experiences with biker’s have not been good ones. Puck has his work cut out for him throughout the book convincing her that he is the one she should spend her life with, but Becca wants to live a normal life not an “MC” life like her mother. Becca has a temper and when she and Puck fight its explosive, anticipate hot angry sex.
“I like playing rough Becca you push as hard as you want.”
Puck stole my heart in Reaper’s Stand I liked him then and I loved him in Silver Bastard, he has a dirty mouth and a dirtier mind I loved it. Becca was a broken young girl who turned into a strong young woman, but her scars ran deep and it would take a lot of healing for Becca being able to let a man in. She had a hard enough time letting her friends in, Danielle does a good job of breaking Becca’s barriers I really liked her. I loved the characters of Blake and Danielle and I hope we get to see more of them in the series. The other characters of Silver Valley, we meet like Shane and Rourke had me wondering what their deal is can’t wait to get their stories.
It's not an easy road for these two passionate, sometimes angry characters to get together. The story was an up and down emotional journey. Becca’s mom is a psycho and puts that poor girl through so much pain I wanted to stab her myself.
Some of our favorites from the Reaper MC books show up like Picnic and London. Painter is having a huge crisis when it comes to Melanie. I never thought I would want Painter’s story, but Joanna made me love him.
When I read a Joanna Wylde book, I always know I will get a full story with characters that jump off the page. These groups of people in Callup, Idaho are no exception. I anxiously anticipate more from them.
The action in Joanna’s stories keeps you on the edge of your seat. Words like thrilling, exciting and non-stop drama run through my head as I read her books. Her female characters are strong and sometimes a little crazy. Her male characters are alpha protective to a fault, gritty, no nonsense type guys that hook you in and don’t let go.
This turned out to be an excellent start to a new Joanna Wylde series, Fathomless is next I believe and if the bonus epilogue in Silver Bastard is any indication it will be a damn good story.
