Jaci Burton is one of my favorite contemporary romance authors. I have not read one of her books in awhile. It was nice to pick up one and I am glad I got to read Ellie and Nicks heartwarming story. After the tragic death of Ellie’s husband, Nicks brother the two hold each other together as they mourn their shared loss. Jaci spins a sweet and some times sad tale of a second chance at love after loss. I cried more than once as I read the journey of Nick and Ellie as they finally find the courage to claim the love the both feel. Great love story.

Janine Infante Bosco has once again created magic. She draws you into her books and the world of the Satan's Knights that she has created from the first few lines of her "Dear Reader". I love reading each of her books and get to see how she has grown as a writer from one book to the next. Roamer is a book that will make you have so many emotions you will not be able to put it down. She truly weaves reality into romance, this girl does her homework. I love an author who puts in the effort to be authentic.

Ally was abducted at the age of 14 right about when a young girl is growing into womanhood and learning slowly what she wants out of life. Having all sorts of firsts, first love, first kiss, first heartbreak. Ally never gets to experience any of that, all she gets is darkness, horror, and abuse at the hands of a monster in a clean-cut suit. Until one day her salvation comes to her rescue dress in leather.

Deuce is running from a club who wants him dead. He's hiding with a club who thinks he can help save them from their enemies.  Deuce never want to care about someone, never wanted responsibilities because they always seemed to get him in trouble. Ally is no exception. When she blows into his life she knocks him for a loop. He finds himself wanting to watch her come into her own and become the girl found instead of the girl lost.

Janine weaves a tale of abuse, heartache, and drug addiction but she also shows us the heart of a survivor. Ally starts off as a drug addicted club whore and ends up one of the strongest female characters I have ever read. She battles her way back from the edge with the help of her ride or die love. Deuce lets her learn how to be the woman she was meant to be and ultimately that woman is the woman who was made to love him.

They are a perfect couple and I loved every minute of their journey. As always Jack Parrish is a thrill to read he's crazy and I love it. The rest of the Satan's Knights make an appearance throughout this installment. Cobra is still my favorite Knight but Deuce is a close second. Who am I kidding I love them all!

Another great story from a stellar author. Highly recommend.

Their story is not without trials and tribulations. The road to forever is one paved with secrets for this couple but they find their way.

A great story about letting someone in and opening yourself up to love and happiness.

Mace and Lani’s story was a slow burn. Sweet and innocent their love bloomed over time. It was pure magic to read how this unlikely couple became each other’s salvation. It is not an easy road for the couple with the prejudices they face within both their families. But their love for each other prevails and they are on their way to a beautiful happily ever after. Truly a modern-day Romeo and Juliet you will love these characters. As always Kat and Stone Bastion do a wonder job making you want to know these endearing people. I definitely recommend.

Once again Lexi Blake brings us into the world of spies, intrigue, romance and a bit of BDSM to keep hot! I love this series so much I will never get tired of it and that is saying a lot because most others I start to not care about the new characters. But the Mckay / Taggart folks are so wonderful I devour every book in the series.

We met Nick briefly a few books back but then became more acquainted with him in Submission is not Enough when he was mourning the loss of his partner/lover Desire. It turns out she wasn’t the love of his life. It was actually her young cousin Hayley who he meets through Des develops a friendship with. When Hayley is, older she tells Nick her feelings for him— on the heels of a huge fight with Des he has an unforgettable night with the woman he hopes to spend the rest of his life with, Hayley. Unfortunately, Des and fate have other plans and he leaves poor Hayley with the thought that he doesn’t want her, choosing revenge over love. This devastates her of course but she preservers, goes to college becomes a history professor. She has a nice quiet life, until Desire’s death turns Hayley’s life upside down. In order to save her life, she needs to turn to the one man who broke her heart for protection.

I loved Nick and Hayley’s chemistry at first knowing their backstory I thought she would let him walk all over her but she proved me wrong. She put him in his place for leaving her and lying to her and once she understood his lifestyle she wanted to know more about the man she fell in love with so long ago. Nick thought he was protecting Hayley by leaving her, classic hero mistake. Once Hayley is back in his life he can’t resist the need to have her. Hayley wants to be his partner as well as his lover and once Nick realizes that’s the only way he will be able to have the woman he loves it’s all sunshine and roses from there. Well sort of—Des left them a big old mess to handle so there is a bunch of suspense, a bit of violence, a whole lot of sarcasm and a few bodies to be disposed of.  Ian and Charlotte Taggart play a big part in this book and I was so happy to get more of this terrific couple. They added an extra special spice to this one especially when Nick uses their sexual exploits at the Garden to get Hayley in touch with her submissive/voyeur side. When Hayley and Nick stop letting their pasts with Des get in the way of their future they are able to see what really matters.

I can’t wait for Brody’s story the teaser we got at the end of For His Eyes Only has me chomping at the bit to know more.

Nick went back to staring at the report. “Hayley’s not mine. She was Desiree’s cousin. Now she’s my client.”

Who had been tired the night before and that was why she’d said the things she’d said. This morning she’d seemed much more sensible. After she’d had some sleep and a shower and had straightened herself up, she’d been quiet and seemingly reflective. She was very likely embarrassed by what had been said the night before.

I would get safety from murderers and I would get orgasms. I’m sorry, Nicky, you’re going to tell me how that’s a bad deal for me.

He was going to make sure she understood that his protection wasn’t based on whether or not she slept with him.

Because he wasn’t sleeping with her. He couldn’t hurt her that way again.

“So she was your old lover’s cousin,” Owen mused. “The lover you weren’t exclusive with and who wouldn’t marry you. The pretty girl who looks at you like you’re the sun in the sky is her cousin.”

“She looks at me like she would look at man who can save her.”

“I can save her.” Owen’s eyes lit up, his brows waggling. “Maybe she’ll look at me like that.”

Anger flared through his system. “Don’t you dare. I told you I would take care of her.”

His arms crossed over his big chest and Nick knew he’d been had. “Well, that answers the question with more honesty. You can pretend, but you like the girl. And if you honestly don’t then you need to know that the boys got a good look at her last night. If she’s going to be hanging about, she should be ready for some serious male attention.”

“What are you talking about?”

“The lads talked it over last night and decided there’s no dibs on this one. They all saw her at pretty much the same time. They looked over that dead body and saw her walking in the hall and that was when the fighting started. We all sat down and decided no dibs on her. She’ll get to pick. You should know that Sasha and Jax have decided if she picks either of them, they’re willing to share. I don’t play that way. That’s something I do know about meself. No need for you to be telling me that tale. If there’s going to be some sharing in the bedroom, it’s going to be the traditional kind between a man and a woman and her stacked best friend. That’s what I say.”

“You tell those boys to stay away from her or they will be dealing with me. They will not like to be dealing with me. I will put up with many things from them. They can poke all the corpses they like. They can punch each other. I do not care. They touch Hayley and I will be caring.”

“Wow, now you do sound Russian. A scary Russian. Still, I think if you don’t want the girl, shouldn’t she be allowed to choose? Think about it. It could be fun.”

“Are we talking about the lost boys and their battle for the new chick?” Kayla strode in, her hair in a high ponytail. It bounced as she walked, a testament to her seemingly ever-sunny personality. “I had babysitting duty last night and they kept talking about her even after lights out. Bad boys. I had a plan though. I think we make them compete in a beauty pageant. Hayley gets to judge.”

“I’m judging a beauty pageant?” Hayley followed behind Kay, and both women were followed by Charlotte Taggart and Penelope Knight. It looked like Hayley was rapidly being accepted by the women on his team.

That was not necessarily a good thing. The women on his team could create chaos like no others.

“That sounds like fun,” Charlotte said with a smile. “I think we should require Speedos for the bathing suit competition. No boring board shorts. If Hayley’s picking a lover, she needs to see some booty.”

Hayley stopped, her cheeks going the sweetest color of pink. “Wait. What?”

Penelope put a hand on her arm. “They’re teasing you, dear. Don’t worry about it. The lads will be very polite. Though you should expect some suitors while you’re here. Especially if you come down to the dungeon.”

Now he was the one flushing. “Excuse me?”

Hayley shook her head as she joined him at the table. “It’s nothing. I was just talking to the girls. Did you get the report? Penny said the Dallas office had found something.”

He was all too aware that they weren’t alone. Damon and Ian walked in with Brody Carter and Walter Bennett. The four men settled into chairs as the women joined them. Nick held out a chair for Hayley. He would have to remember that he couldn’t leave her alone for a minute or someone would be whispering in her ear, giving her ideas she shouldn’t have.

Like visiting The Garden on a play night.
