Wroth has always loved Marissa. The day she and her brother Liam came into his family she brought a light into his life. Everything he did, he did for her. She was so sweet and innocent he couldn’t help but want to protect her and take care of her. He joined the marines to help save his family’s farm. Leaving home a boy but coming back a hardened man. The things he had seen during his tour of duty would haunt him for years. Marissa was the only good in his world. Then she got cancer and all he wanted was for her to get well. As the years went on and Marissa recovers from her cancer she changes from the little girl he adored to the woman he cannot stop thinking about. He wants her, his desire for her strong. He can’t have her she’s too good, too perfect, and too innocent for him. Marissa will show him that he deserves her love. She shows him she can help him fight his demons and have a life worth cherishing.
What a beautiful love story. We learned a little about Wroth and Marissa’s story and their incredible connection in previous books. Wroth is the strong silent type. Marissa loved him from the time she was a teenager but kept it to herself. Wroth was a never-ending presence in her life. Wherever Marissa was Wroth was not far behind. He was her savior, her protector she couldn’t foresee her life without him in it. When she finally breaks down his walls, he starts to see her as the woman she has become, and not the little girl with cancer she once was. They develop a quite relationship. Wroth rarely leaves her side. Until one dreadful day, everything falls apart and Marissa and Wroth are both left heart broken.
“The next few minutes would be the defining moment in my life. Would I spend the rest of my life with the woman I needed more than I needed air to breathe… or would she walk away?”
This story was fascinating to me. The writing flowed so well, I was unable to put it down. Marissa is a tough cookie she survived cancer she can surly survives getting over Wroth right. Um, maybe not. I loved how Wroth refused to allow her to give up on him. He proved to her that his love for her was eternal. I felt her pain. I felt his pain. I cried for them both. Then. Now. Forever. This series is so worth getting into.
The Rocker Series is my favorite rock romance. Each installment gets better and better. Mrs. Browning manages to give each rocker their own unique story. She keeps us glue to our e-readers anxiously anticipating how the story will end for the featured couple. She incorporates the rest of the rocker extended family into every book as well. That keeps us engrossed and wanting more, more, and more.
