He thought he was a monster...
Jed Baker had lived through hell on earth and had the demons to prove it. Then he met an innocent girl who gave his troubled soul peace, but he couldn't bear to taint her sweetness with the death and viloence threatening to consume him.
She knew he was a hero...
Ginny Lawson lived under the control of an abusive father who used her gentle nature and tender heart against her. She longed for someone to love her enough to save her, and when Jed rolled into town she knew that her hero had come.

EXCERPT

Ginny Lawson had become his salvation.

He was addicted to her sweet smiles. They were like sunshine, with the power to warm his cold, barren soul. Her cheerful nature was effervescent, bubbling over into the dark desolation consuming him. Those big blue eyes were so trusting, they made him want to protect her from all harm, including himself.

Jed Baker knew that he was the most dangerous thing Ginny would ever come in contact with. The taint of death and violence that filled his soul was toxic; the demons he carried within, a threat to everyone around him. If he ever allowed himself to care about her, he would destroy her.

Unfortunately, it might already be too late.

Tonya Brooks lives in Myrtle Beach, SC with her very own bad boy husband, who she happily admits is the inspiration for her male characters. She has two adult sons who refuse to read her books because mom's are not supposed to know about sex, much less write about it.
When asked about her books, Tonya's standard reply is, "This ain't your mama's sweet and tender romance novel." Her books deal with raw, gritty, painful issues that real people face, with focus on the strength in overcoming them and there is always a Happily Ever After.
Her alpha males are as hot as a sultry Southern summer night, and the females have as much sass as sex appeal. When they meet, passions ignite hotter than a day at the beach and sparks fly like the Fourth of July. Look out for unexpected plot twists, some colorful language and ribald humor. Oh, and a goat. On a leash.

Lt. Grayson Masters is focused on graduating the Apache helicopter course, and the last thing he needs is his gorgeous new roommate Samantha Fitzgerald distracting him. While her smart mouth and free spirit are irresistibly irritating, he can’t deny their off-the-charts chemistry, no matter how hard he tries.

Having just been expelled from college, Sam has no business digging for Grayson’s secrets while she’s hiding her own, but that doesn’t stop her from trying to tear down his walls. Each barrier she busts through drops one of her own, though, and she’s not prepared for the truth: another woman laid claim to Grayson’s heart long ago.

Falling in love is something neither Grayson nor Sam can afford, and when that line is crossed and secrets are exposed, they’ll learn that sometimes it’s the answered prayers that will put you through hell.

I shrieked as the mixer whirred a shrill pitch
and batter exploded, hitting the walls, the cabinets, my face...everything. I sputtered as some landed in my mouth, and slammed my hand against the lever to turn it off.
This was going to be a bitch to clean up.
“Are you okay?” Grayson ran in, hair damp from the shower. His eyes widened as he took in the state of his precious kitchen. “You weren’t kidding about the mess.”
“Oh this?” I smiled. “It’s a new aeration technique. I totally meant to do this.” My awesome excuse died as a glob of brownie mix fell off the tip of my nose.
“Is that so?” he asked, walking over to me slowly, consuming my vision. My breath hitched as he swiped his finger across my cheek, and then licked the brownie mix off the digit. Holy hot. “Hmm... I think there’s something to be said for this method. Maybe a little more air in the batter?”
My mouth popped open. “Are you making fun of me?”
He smirked, which must have had a direct link to my panties, because they unanimously voted to drop. Now. There was sexy, and there was Grayson’s tongue sweeping across his lower lip, which was a step beyond hedonistic. His eyes took on a mischievous glint but kept the same signature intensity that held me captive, unable to look anywhere else as he lowered his face toward mine. What...what was he
doing?
Do you even care? Nope. Not one bit.
“Maybe another taste to be sure?” he asked, his voice low as his lips skimmed across my jawline. “Mmm. Definitely more.” Shivers coursed down my body. Holy shit. His mouth was actually on me, and I was awake.
He flipped the switch on the mixer and chocolate flew.
“You did not!” I let my knees buckle so I slipped to the floor, leaving Grayson to be splattered by the flying confection.
“I most certainly did!” He lifted me up like I weighed nothing, and batter smacked the back of my tank top. “Man, you’re slippery.” He mock-dropped me.
I yelped, locking my ankles around his waist and my hands around his neck. He turned off the mixer and chuckled low in his throat. “You can laugh?” I asked, yanking my head back to look at him.
“I have been known to on occasion,” he answered, that stupid, crazy-sexy smirk in play despite the chocolate on his cheeks and forehead. How the hell could someone look so hot while literally dripping brownie batter?
“I like it,” I admitted.
His smirk disappeared, and his grip tightened on my bare thighs as his gaze dropped to my lips. They parted as if he’d freaking asked them to. We weren’t just stepping out of the friend-zone here, we were on a damn missile into let- me-jump-you-ville.
“I do, too,” he whispered.

Cold.
All I can feel is a deep chill blanketing my body. My eyes open to complete
darkness as a
voice calls to me. Its muffled tones send
shivers down my spine with every garbled word. A sense of familiarity floats
around me as its words become clearer.
“Run, Dani,” it pleas from beyond the black
veil shrouding the room. “Escape while you can,” it continues. Panic courses
through my veins. Where in the hell am I? Why can’t I see anything? The pleas
go unanswered as my voice fails to render sound.

“Help!” I scream internally, “Please, fucking
help me!”

The voice’s call fades with each word. “You
need to get the hell out of here, Dani. You need to move. Find a wall and
escape,” I coach to myself. A cold chill of air sweeps into the darkness
encompassing me as I try to feel the place around me. My fingers plunge into a
dense, sticky liquid as I crawl forward causing my body to slide with each
movement. A hard surface is finally inching its way under my fingers.

Crawling upwards, I splay my hands against the
cool wall. “You’re on your feet, Dani. The hardest part is over now. Time to
find a door or a light switch, something to get us out of here,” my internal
coach continues.

Keeping close to the wall, I finally find a
switch. Flicking it upwards, the light shines brilliantly. As my eyes adjust to
the light, my hands come into my vision. A scream barrels out of my throat when
I see the sticky, red blood covering my hands and clothes. My heart races as I frantically wipe
the blood away. Blood begins to pool at my feet, inching toward me. Rushing
away from the blood, I fall backward into a solid, but warm obstacle. Before I
can turn around, hands grasp my arms as a person’s hot breath trails down my
neck.

“Hello, Dani,” a different voice whispers in
my ear. “Welcome to Hell. You’re mine now,” the voice crackles as my body is
pulled into black oblivion.

“Wow this book was so good!! The way the author pulled you in and really had you feeling everything these two were going through was awesome!” ~ Inked Rainbow Reviews
“Faith Gibson has delivered a story of loss, taking chances, and more importantly love. She wrote the characters in such a relatable way that I found myself completely enthralled with not only the main ones but the supporting characters as well. Now add Duke (the coolest dog ever) and little baby Delilah, and you've kicked up the awww factor quite a few notches for me. I absolutely loved the epilogue!” ~ Goodreads Reviewer

Erik collapsed flat on the bed taking Tag with him. Tag held onto the condom and pulled out of Erik’s ass. He rolled off to the side so he didn’t crush the man. Normally, he would get out of the bed and take care of the condom. He would take a shower, alone, indicating it was time for whoever he’d fucked to leave. He’d only ever cuddled after with Cade and that’s because they were usually so strung out neither one of them could move. Now, he wanted to curl up into the heat of Erik and go to sleep. He had no idea how the doctor felt about that. Tag waited for some kind of sign. When Erik didn’t move, Tag took off the condom and found his way to the bathroom. He opened the small closet and grabbed a washcloth. After cleaning his cock, he rewet the cloth and went to care for Erik. When he sat down on the bed at the doctor’s hip, he allowed himself a moment to take in the beauty that was Erik Henrikson. Not only was he gorgeous on the outside, but he had a beautiful soul as well. It called to Tag on a level so deep, he felt something he’d never felt before. He refused to put a name to it. Not yet. He pushed Erik’s sweaty hair off his forehead. “Are you okay?” he asked.
Erik opened one eye and grinned. “I’m more than okay. That was…”
“Here, turn over. Let me clean you up.”
Erik rolled onto his back and covered his eyes with his forearm. Tag washed the drying come off Erik’s flaccid dick and wiped at the mess on the sheets. “You can sleep in the wet spot,” he joked.
Erik removed his arm from his eyes and frowned. “You’re spending the night?”
Oh shit. Tag had been kidding, sort of. He’d also wanted to feel out the doctor to see where his head was. Guess that answered that.
