ADORED Synopsis:

A man who gave up on love

Mitch Bradford is an intimidating man. In his professional life, he has a reputation for demolishing his opponents in the courtroom. At the exclusive BDSM club Sanctum, he prefers disciplining pretty submissives with no strings attached. In his line of work, there’s no time for a healthy relationship. After a few failed attempts, he knows he’s not good for any woman—especially not his best friend’s sister.

A woman who always gets what she wants

Laurel Daley knows what she wants, and her sights are set on Mitch. He’s smart and sexy, and it doesn’t matter that he’s a few years older and has a couple of bitter ex-wives. Watching him in action at work and at play, she knows he just needs a little polish to make some woman the perfect lover. She intends to be that woman, but first she has to show him how good it could be.

A killer lurking in the shadows

When an unexpected turn of events throws the two together, Mitch and Laurel are confronted with the perfect opportunity to explore their mutual desire. Night after night, of being close breaks down Mitch’s defenses. The more he sees of Laurel, the more he knows he wants her. Unfortunately, someone else has their eyes on Laurel and they have murder in mind.

He helped her up and had the rope in his hands before she could say another thing. She could see the relief stamped on his face. He needed the control, needed it so badly.
Something about her made him lose it and that was great at times. She loved their passion, but this was part of the man, too. He needed to be patient and slow. He needed to rise above his instincts.
She could give him both.
The room was quiet as he worked, wrapping the rope and tying it off. It wasn’t super tight and she suspected that was for her comfort. She found an odd place as she submitted to him. As he wound the rope around her, working it in diamond patterns, she relaxed. Her whole body was humming. Her blood thumped through her system and she was aroused by the feel of his hands on her skin, but there was no hurry.
She loved this quiet time when they didn’t have to talk, when they could simply be together. Peace and passion. They could have both if they tried.
“Did you hate the spanking? I haven’t had to discipline you before this evening.” They were the first words he’d spoken in fifteen minutes. His hands expertly tied two pieces of jute together before he began a row that would end at her hips.
She could feel where the knots were. The way he’d tied her, they rubbed against her skin, but not in an unpleasant way. It was like everywhere the knots sat was another place he touched her. “I didn’t dislike it and you know it. I suspect you can tell how aroused it got me.”
He breathed in. “I love the way you smell when you want me. And I love how your whole body blushes when I talk about how good you smell.”
It was something none of her previous lovers would have dared to mention, but then nothing was out of bounds sexually as far as Mitch was concerned. He might have a million hangups in real life, but once the clothes came off, he didn’t shy away from anything. “Like I said, I didn’t mind the spanking. And I like this. I like how the rope feels.”

Adored Teaser 1

Adored (Masters and Mercenaries #8.5) by Lexi Blake

Mitch Bradford is an intimidating man in the courtroom and at the BDSM club Sanctum. He has a reputation at the club for being a very disciplined Master. When it comes to relationships, he has been an epic fail. Two divorces under his belt made him finally give up on love. No, he will stick to getting pretty submissive’s to bend to his will for a night and then move on to the next. Besides, he’s too busy keeping his law practice going to have time for a real relationship, he is just not good at love.

Laurel Daley is a woman who knows what she wants and goes after it. She’s decided that Mitch Bradford is the man she wants to spend the rest of her life with, he’s older and has a couple of ex-wives but they just didn’t know what he needs. Laurel has watched him at work, and at play, figuring out all he needs is a little push in the right direction, and then he will see what a great life they could have. Laurel as his will submissive, Mitch, as her strong and dominant Master. She can show him that she is his perfect lover, friend, partner, and wife all he has to do is trust in her love.

Can Mitch realize that Laurel is the woman he has always wanted? Or will he throw it all away because he is too scared to take a risk? Will a dangerous killer get in the way of their happily ever after?

I have been on a little bit of a Lexi Blake high this week, first I read You Only Love Twice, then jumped into Adored, and immediately downloaded Sweet Child O’ Mine from Lexi’s website followed by purchasing the Sweet Seduction box set, which has Luscious in it. Therefore, it’s safe to say I am on a Masters and Mercenaries overload, and I love it!

I am obsessed with the series I simply cannot get enough of it. When a new installment is announced, I can’t pre-order fast enough. Each book leaves me with a book hangover as I anxiously wait for the next book to come out so I can delve into it with abandon. So this month, it’s good that Lexi has gifted us with so many releases in a row.

Mitch and Laurel are a fascinating addition to the Masters and Mercenaries series. Mitch is brooding and bitter from his two divorces. He is set in his ways and depends on his routines to keep his life in order. He has been through his share of heartache and disappointment in the past, so he tends to shy away from any real intimacy.  Then one day Laurel steps into his world and it’s all over for him, he wants Laurel but keeps his distances she’s his best friend’s sister she’s off limits. However, he can’t get her out of his head, she has entwined herself into his life, and he can’t imagine it without her in it. It was so sweet how he lets her make changes in his office and later his home, even though it bothers him to do so he will do anything to make her happy.

Laurel is young and a bit naïve at times, but it doesn’t take long for me to love her character. She’s feisty and smart she knows what she wants and she goes after it. Mitch and Laurel are perfect for each other and it shows as they navigate a D/s relationship. Laurel knows about the lifestyle since her brother and sister in law are in it, she’s decided it’s what she wants but only with Mitch. He tries to force her away make her understand he’s no good for any woman, especially her, but she holds her own and is determined to show him that they can have a future together. Mitch is stubborn and he messes up with Laurel a lot making for a deeply heartbreaking emotional story.

It is no surprise to me that I could not put this book down, it was fun and silly one minute and serious and sad the next. The characters are well developed and a joy to read. The BDSM scenes are exciting to read as always, no one does BDSM sex scenes like Lexi Blake. The story flows very nicely introducing us to some new characters as well as treating us to our old favorite’s I am talking about Big Tag of course. I can’t get enough of his sarcastic charm. Keeping with the action adventure plots that we have come to love with this series, there is a danger that threatens our main characters giving us a thrilling adventure to follow. This book may be read as standalone but as always, I recommend reading the entire series you will not be disappointed.

I am a huge fan of epilogues and this one has a doozy of an epilogue, it contains a sentence that will have the fans of the series gasping and screaming. I fully trust Lexi and I am sure that it sets us up for the next book about Tennessee Williams Master No coming in August. Yes, I already pre-ordered it, be sure to get yours.

Rush by Gina Gordon - Vitural Tour/Review/Excerpt

Rush
By: Gina Gordon

Releasing May 12, 2015

Loveswept

In this edgy, sizzling romance for fans of Monica Murphy and Abbi Glines, a bad boy shows a straitlaced law student how to slow down and savor the good things.

Everly Parker is about to graduate from law school, always busy, and can’t stop rushing through life. Her late grandmother left her a bucket list of meaningful, can’t-miss experiences, but she hasn’t completed a single one. Then searing-hot Max Levin bursts into her world. As a casting director for a porn production company, Max is loaded, cocky, and all wrong for Everly. Still, she’s tempted enough to cross the first item off her list: Go out with someone you’d never give the time of day.

Inheriting a porn empire isn’t every guy’s dream (well, actually, it probably is), but Max isn’t complaining. It’s just that until he meets Everly, he has no idea what he’s been missing. As the pressure mounts to take over the family business, Max can’t help wondering what would happen if he chose Everly instead. So far, his life has been a wild ride, but only Everly promises the greatest rush of all: love.

A loud bang sounded to my right and I turned my attention to the aisle, where a sweet- looking girl blew a heavy breath out the side of her mouth. It caused her unkempt black hair to flutter around her face. She bent, reaching to pick up the stack of books that had fallen to the ground, giving a spectacular view of a tight, round bottom covered in black fabric.

Who knew yoga pants were so damn sexy? Hers were sloppily tucked into a pair of beige Uggs.

I scrambled from my seat and crouched beside her, picking up one of her books and holding it out. “You dropped something,” I said, my senses kicking up at the sweet scent surrounding me.

She snorted, a cute little laugh, and grabbed the book from my hand. “Sounds like something I would do.”

She finally looked up and her soft blue eyes locked on mine. Her lips were plump and naked. She didn’t need lipstick. They were the perfect shade of raspberry. Her pale skin was luminous and it took all of my willpower not to lean in and scent her, running my nose up her dainty neck. My cock twitched in my pants. An unexpected twitch. One I hadn’t felt upon first sight of a woman in a long damn time.

Getting rid of that book so soon might have been a bad idea. I needed it to cover the semi that had just popped up in my pants.

I did a quick survey of her body, which didn’t stand out, in yoga pants and a long-sleeved T-shirt. She was the exact opposite of the women I saw on a daily basis. She was as plain as vanilla ice cream, but something grabbed me—grabbed my cock, was more like it.

“I’m sorry to interrupt.” Her face knitted with guilt as her eyes settled on something behind me.

“We’re on an interview,” Stella said from the table.

This woman knew the escorts. Did that mean she, too, was . . . A grinned curved up at the side of my mouth. Oh, yeah, I could definitely see her making a lot of money playing the uptight librarian fantasy.

     “At my favorite café?”

“Public space, and all,” Jade said with a shrug.

Smart girl. Just the kind of girl White Lace wanted.

When the last book had been picked up, the woman straightened, and I followed suit. She flipped her hair and when her sea-blue eyes locked on mine, I suddenly felt like I’d just run the New York Marathon. Winded, achy, but high on something I just couldn’t put my finger on.

“Thank goodness.” She struggled to gather the books against her chest. “I thought I interrupted your dates.”

I struggled to lift my arm to help her, but it was caught on something invisible. Sort of like my tongue, which didn’t want to cooperate.

She shuffled away and placed her books on a table three down from where we sat.

When she returned, she eyed me with . . . disinterest.

“I’m Max Levin.” This time my arm cooperated. “Are you an associate of these lovely
ladies?”

She brought her hand up to cover her chest. “You think . . . Oh, no.” She laughed, a sweet little giggle that forced a smile to my face. “I’m not a . . .” A blush fell across her cheeks.

Innocent. Unassuming. With a little lip gloss, maybe . . . I shook off the thought. This girl wasn’t porn material. But for the first time in years, I actually wanted to test the merchandise to find out.

Everly Parker is on her way to becoming a lawyer, always with her nose in a book not much of a social life. When her grandmother passes away she leaves her with a house and a bucket list, that Everly has no idea what to do with. That is until Max Levin comes crashing into her organized study filled world and turns it upside down. He’s offered to help her check items of her list, Everly wonder’s what does Max get out of the deal. She’s a plain nobody, he’s a casting director and future president of a porn production company. Surely, he can have any woman he wants what he would want with her she can’t figure out. But she decides to honor her grandmother’s wishes and take him up on his offer, be the first item on the list “the guy she would never give the time of day.”

Max is about to inherit a porn empire and he’s not sure if he even wants it. Life has always been easy for Max, he has been surrounded by money and beautiful women his whole life. However, lately he’s felt unfulfilled and bored. One day Everly Parker comes crashing into his life and he can’t stop thinking about the sweet quirky girl. In an effort to prove to himself that he is more than his job, he offers to help her with her bucket list. He can’t explain it he is drawn to her innocence, and the fact that she won’t give him the time of day. Something happens to him, he cares what she thinks for the first time in his life someone’s opinion matters to him. He begins to realize he’s finally found the rush he’s been looking for every time he looks at Everly. Can he convince her he’s more than just a porn guy? Can he be the man she deserves?

My Review:

This was my first book from this author Gina Gordon and I really loved it.

Max is a porn-casting director and is set to inherit the company from his father. He grows up surround by porn stars and sex. He had loving parents and wanted for nothing. He never thought he would ever have the kind of love his parents had. Max could have any woman he wanted, but none of them did it for him anymore. They were just the same fake breasts, fake smiles, and fake personalities just looking to get in a Levin Production. When he meets Everly the chemistry is electric, she the total opposite of whom Max has thought was “his type”. The characters really clicked with each other, Everly was sweet and I enjoyed following her on her journey of self-discovery as Max helped her check off items on the bucket list her grandma left her. Both characters end up having big decisions to make regarding their future and not just about their relationship but about the careers, they will pursue.

When they start to advance their relationship in the sexual direction things get hot. Max goes slowly and I was all for the slow build up it worked great with these characters. Max thought he was helping Everly but in the end, they ended up helping each other realize their dreams and that love could actually be in the cards for them both. The whole story flowed really well it was an easy fun read with a few twists. I am very curious about Everly’s best friend and escort Gracie and Max’s friend Ben I think there could be a great story there. Hope the author decides to write that one. Definitely recommend this book and will check out this authors other books as well.
