Watching Fern finally relaxing and falling into a much-needed nap I gaze down into little Hope's dark eyes. They were just like her daddy’s. Holding her in my arms the ultimate feeling of peace comes over me. Each time she is in my presence I get the same emotion. Hope gives me a calm feeling and serenity that I have never had anywhere else. This makes no sense to me intellectually as a grown man with some medical knowledge and I don’t get into all that new age stuff. Truly don’t understand it but do know that because of Hope we have a chance to get back to our most precious gift—our lives and Fern healthy. Hugging her close to my chest, I whisper in her ear, “Thank you, little Hope, for giving my Fern a reason to fight. You are her little angel.”

D.M. Earl resides in Northwest Indiana. An avid reader for many many years she has finally taken the jump to start writing her own stories professionally. When not reading or writing D.M can be found on her Harley Dyna hitting the road beside her husband riding his own Harley Ultra Classic.
D.M. enjoys her “kids” 4 dogs, 2 indoor cats & 3 outdoor cats. D.M. loves to be outside be it reading, writing or sitting on the deck listening to the chimes with the dogs at her feet. Also her love of gardening is reflected in numerous flower beds and a large vegetable garden.
