ARC Review: Filthy Bastard by Emily Minton & Shelley Springfield
Adyson Sloan is trapped in a never ending cycle of hurt and abuse. Her mother is a vindictive woman who want nothing but money and status and will pretty sell her own daughters to get it. Her father has no backbone and her poor sister is sick from a heart condition her parts won’t pay for unless she agrees to marry a man who tried to rape her sister. Adyson has no choice but to give in to her now brother-in-law becoming his plaything at his beck and call to save her sister. When Addy is in the wrong place the wrong time she become a victim of a kidnapping with her best friend that turns out to be the best thing that ever happy to her.
Brew is a man without a heart. He has no love for anything except his brotherhood. He will live and die for his club and would do anything he’s told. So when kidnaps an innocent woman it’s not thing new to him. He didn’t expect to fall in love with one of his victims. He wants to keep her, he knows she hiding something from him, he can’t image what it is.
This team of authors has fast become one of my favorites. I loved Dirty Bastard but I was so excited to get Filthy Bastard so quickly after. Brew was sexy, tough and just the kind of guy to make you swoon.
Addy is Trix best friend and was kidnapped with her, this story carries over from Dirty. The beginning parts of the book run parallel to Dirty. You don’t have to read the previous book because the authors do a good job of writing a Brew and Addy’s tale without making you feel like you missed something. But I do suggest reading Dirty first for a more well-rounded reading experience.
Addy and Brew have amazing chemistry and the sex is steamy. Addy situation is not normal; she’s basically trapped into having an affair with her brother-in-law who is obsessed with her because she spurned his advance previous. She is hiding this from everyone including her best friend for a year. When everything comes to light Addy’s parents and her brother-in-law don’t know what hit them when Brew and his club comes to her rescue. Brew claimed her the moment he set eyes on her and he doesn’t plan on letting her go.
Overall an excellent MC romance read, lots of hot sex, insta-love (which I am ok with if the characters are good). Actions, danger and an emotional ending that had me in tears.
