Three Christmases (No Weddings #4) by Kat and Stone Bastion
Cade and Hannah have finally found a sense of intimacy that outweighs any other obligations in their lives. Her bakery, his two businesses, nothing is more important to either of them than spending quality time together. Reveling in the love and connection to each other that they share as well as a hot steamy and at time adventurous sex life. With the holiday season upon them, they realize that balancing their growing relationship and their careers is trickier than they could have imagined. Hannah’s bakery becomes increasingly busy and Cade gets a once in a lifetime opportunity that takes him across the country to head up a large corporation on the West Coast. Splitting his time between his two homes is proving to be difficult; flight cancellations and flu bugs plague Hannah and Cade’s weekends together. Can they find a balance that works for them or will each have to sacrifice a part of themselves to be together? Will hearts be broken and dreams shattered for the sake of a once in a lifetime love. Or are the sacrifices too much for anyone to live with?
I would give this series an infinite amount of stars, since there is no option for that I guess I will give it FIVE “I can’t stop reading this series” STARS. Cade has proven to be the best male hero book boyfriend ever. I love how he always wants to do whatever it takes to make Hannah happy. But it is not just her; Cade is the kind of guy you can go to for help no matter what. He is there for his sisters, his parents, his friends and especially Hannah. So when he decides to take a job thousands of miles away from everything he knows he has a hard time adjusting.
“I miss being with you, Maestro. Holding you, wrapping myself around you. Being inside you. And after, just breathing with you.”
Hannah does her best to make him feel good about following his dreams. She is still working on her trust issues so the distance is weighing on her. Long distance relationships are tough and get even tougher when the universe cannot seem to cut them a break. In this installment, the authors switch POVs from Cade to Hannah and I love that. I felt Cade’s guilt for leaving Hannah behind with every word I read. I sensed Hannah’s sadness for not feeling like she could just leave a life she built to follow Cade’s dreams leaving her own to flounder.
“My heart beat strongly for him and would no matter where he was. “I love you, Cade. I’ll be here missing you every moment you’re gone and losing myself in you every second you’re back.”
“It was all about this. Not the parting of ways, but the uniting-with the force of two unleashed storms crashing together.”
In the end, for me this series is a journey of two people who found an instant connection, became friends and then built a strong bond through a physical and emotional attraction that will last a lifetime. I don’t want to give away too much, but there are twists and turns and many surprises for everyone. I cried at the heart wrenching phone conversations between Hannah and Cade when they couldn’t be together. When they did come together, I nearly saw steam coming out of my iPad as I read the very well written scorching hot sexy love scenes some in “semi-public closets”. This series is at the top of my list of romance novels, I highly recommend. It will be bittersweet for me to say goodbye to this great couple and fantastic series. Hopefully we can get a spinoff book or books with Cade’s single sisters and his friends Mase and Ben who are all great characters as well. I can’t wait for the next installment.
“What happens if I trip?” “My heart lurched again, and I sighed, kissing the top of her head.” I will always catch you when you fall.”
“Go ahead, Maestro. Run. I will run after you. Always”
Received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
